The new Canberra Hospital expansion, a milestone in sustainable design.
Powered entirely by renewable energy, this nine-storey building is set to reduce emissions by approximately 1,886 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
Vision played a vital role in illuminating this 44,000 square metre facility, which features a welcoming double-height entrance hall that connects to the existing hospital campus. Designed with community input, this main reception area provides a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The CSB houses advanced medical facilities, including a new emergency department, intensive care unit, and operating theatres, all thoughtfully lit to enhance well-being and efficiency. The design also includes outdoor spaces for patients and families to enjoy.
As the BVN principal noted, this expansion emphasises healthcare and community with a focus on sustainability, fostering a healing environment. We are proud to contribute to this project that sets new benchmarks in hospital design.
